Rose Theatre Kingston

The largest producing theatre in South West London, founded by Sir Peter Hall โ€” the man behind the RSC and former director of the National Theatre. Opened in January 2008 with Uncle Vanya directed by Hall himself. The Haworth Tompkins-designed building (the same practice behind the National Theatre's Dorfman and Battersea Arts Centre) features a thrust stage inspired by the Elizabethan Rose Theatre on Bankside. Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Beverley Knight, and Timothy West have all performed here. The Rose Cafe serves Park Brewery beers โ€” local to Kingston.
