Fish! Kitchen Kingston
Seafood restaurant on Coombe Road in Norbiton, opened by Tony Allan as the first Fish! Kitchen outside his Borough Market original. Fish is supplied by the adjoining Jarvis fishmonger and cooked to order, with a menu running from fish & chips to Dover sole, whole lobster and oysters.
The fish here comes from the fishmonger literally next door — Jarvis — and gets cooked to order, about as short a journey from slab to plate as you’ll find in Kingston. Set on Coombe Road beside Norbiton station, this is Tony Allan’s first Fish! Kitchen outside his original Borough Market site, and the provenance is the whole point. The menu runs from proper fish & chips and oysters up to whole lobster, Dover sole and grilled wild sea bass, in a low-key room of around 35 covers with a few more out on the rear decking. SquareMeal sums it up neatly, calling it a marriage that “links a great fish shop (Jarvis) to a pretty good fish & chip outfit.” Worth knowing before you go: you enter through the takeaway counter, staff can be keen to upsell sides, and it’s closed Sunday and Monday — but for whatever’s freshest off the Jarvis slab that day, it’s hard to beat. Booking is via OpenTable, and they deliver Tuesday to Saturday.
