Kingston’s Riverside Green Space

Canbury Gardens is a linear riverside park running along the Thames from Kingston town centre towards Hampton Wick. Popular with locals for walking, picnicking, and enjoying river views, it’s one of Kingston’s most-used green spaces.

A pleasant path runs the length of the gardens along the river bank, connecting to the Thames Path in both directions. There’s a well-equipped children’s playground, grassy areas for picnics and games, and benches along the riverside with views across to the Surrey bank. Boats and rowers pass regularly.

Open 24 hours, free entry. Gets busy on sunny weekends but there’s usually space to find a spot.
