The Transformation

Imber Court’s backstory is unusual: a 90-acre Metropolitan Police training ground that opened to public membership in 2015. The scale is the first thing you notice — this is a campus, not a facility. Seven football pitches, two cricket squares, eleven tennis courts, four padel courts, an 18-metre heated indoor pool, playgrounds, nature trails, and cycling paths spread across grounds that feel more like parkland than a sports club.

The Family Campus

What makes Imber Court distinctive is the partner-organisation model. GoggleSquad runs the swim school (500+ children annually, starting from babies), Tennis England Club handles the racquets, and Esher Cricket Club — the jewel in the crown — brings 700 juniors across U5 to U19 age groups, with the U13s national champions and the girls’ programme winning Tier 1. You don’t need membership for many activities: padel and tennis are bookable via Playtomic, and swimming lessons are open to non-members. Under-8s join free.

Beyond Sport

The 90 acres of grounds include playgrounds, nature trails, cycling trails, and river walks — enough to fill an entire day even without stepping onto a pitch. Birthday parties run in the function rooms (capacity up to 300) or as pool parties with a dedicated children’s menu. The site is only 8-10 minutes from Kingston by car. Note: the venue is correctly called “Imber Court” (on Ember Lane, which causes frequent confusion).
