The Spring Grove
Tucked away on a quiet residential street near the Kingston–Surbiton border, The Spring Grove is the kind of pub you only find if someone tells you about it. A Young's pub since 1896, with a large garden, open fires in winter, and a proper all-day food menu.
You won’t stumble across The Spring Grove — and that’s entirely the point. Bloomfield Road is a quiet residential street off the Kingston–Surbiton border: no passing trade, no sign on a main road. Walk past the houses, start to doubt yourself, and then find a proper pub with a large garden waiting at the end of the street.
It’s been here since 1867 and Young’s have owned it since 1896. Inside, three distinct drinking and dining areas in a smart modern style, with open fires when the weather turns. Two regular Young’s cask ales — London Original and London Special — plus up to three rotating guests, often locally sourced.
The garden is the star. Large, with a covered decked area for when the weather hedges its bets. On long summer evenings it stays quieter than the more central pub gardens — the hidden location filters out the crowds. Food runs noon to 10pm daily, with a seasonally changing British menu and Sunday roasts that anchor the weekly calendar.
Family-friendly until 9pm. Dogs welcome throughout. Wednesday quiz at 7:30pm. Accessible via ramp with accessible WC.
