O'Neill's
Mitchells & Butlers Irish pub on the corner of Eden Street and Apple Market, refurbished September 2025. Six screens with TNT Sports and Sky Sports, live bands Fri & Sat, quiz Monday, karaoke Thursday. Strong drinks deals.
Why we love it
Kingston's best pub for live sport and big nights out — six screens, live bands every weekend, and genuine drinks deals including happy hour from £3.90.
O’Neill’s is a chain pub and it doesn’t pretend otherwise. But it’s also recently refurbished (September 2025 reopening), centrally located on the corner of Eden Street and Apple Market, and it does what it does properly: live sport, live music, and drinks deals that actually save you money.
Six screens carry TNT Sports and Sky Sports. Live bands play every Friday and Saturday from 9pm. Monday is quiz night, Thursday is karaoke. It’s the pub where Kingston goes for big match days and big nights out.
The deals are worth knowing: happy hour runs Monday to Friday 5–8pm with drinks from £3.90. Weekday lunch plus a drink is £9.95. There’s 2-for-1 pizza, 2 cocktails for £14, and bottomless brunch for those who want to commit. After the 2025 refurb, the interior is cleaner and brighter than the old version.
The honest truth: it’s a Mitchells & Butlers chain pub. It can get chaotic late at night, and this is not the place for a quiet pint and a think. But a guide to Kingston’s pubs that pretends O’Neill’s doesn’t exist is a guide that’s ignoring where people actually go.
Local’s Tip: Happy hour Mon–Fri 5–8pm is the best-value drinks window in central Kingston.
