You Me Korean
New Malden's OG Korean spot since 1988 — handmade jajangmyeon noodles so long they come with scissors.
Why we love it
The Infatuation rates it 8 ('Truly Excellent') — one of the highest scores in New Malden. The handmade noodles are legendary.
You Me Korean has been making handmade noodles since at least 1988 — the first jajangmyeon restaurant in the area. The dining room is compact, with BBQ grills on four-person tables and framed selfies of the owner's daughter with famous footballers on the walls. It has the vibe of a great aunt whose love language is overfeeding you. The jajangmyeon arrives with scissors because the handmade noodles are that long, drowning in savoury black bean sauce — this is the dish to order. The garlic prawns are hazard-warning-red, crispy, and properly garlicky. The pajeon has crispy edges and is well-stuffed with squid and spring onion. The Infatuation rates it 8 ("Truly Excellent") and says once you visit, you'll want to return twice a month. That tracks. **Local's Tip:** The jajangmyeon at £8 is perfect for solo dining. For groups, book one of the back rooms and go family-style.
